About Erika Hanafin Austria

I have spent nearly two decades inside startups. I have led teams through five acquisitions. I served as CEO of HeyMama, helping grow a community of over 75,000 women before guiding the company through its acquisition by Luminary, covered in Fortune. I co-founded NeonID, a company built on personality science and AI that helps brands and individuals understand who they really are. I have helped women raise millions in funding. I have keynoted on organizational culture, funding models, and women’s leadership. I have been named a Top 50 Women Leader of Virginia, twice.

And in the middle of all of that, I rebuilt my entire life.

Pregnancy at 40. Miscarriage. Early perimenopause. Divorce. Co-parenting. Blending a family of four boys. Every chapter demanded a reinvention I had not planned for. Each one stripped away another layer of the identity I had built and revealed something truer underneath.

MOMumental Reinvention is what came out of that intersection. The operational credibility of someone who has built real things and the emotional depth of someone who has been broken open by life and chose to keep going anyway.

I write for women who are in the middle of becoming someone new. Not in a self-help way. Not in a coaching way. In the way where you are standing in the wreckage of a life that used to work and you need someone to say: I have been here. Let me tell you what I learned.

I am also the founder of MOMumental Moments™, a trademarked movement honoring the everyday achievements and transitions that shape women’s lives. And I am building what I believe will become a multi-billion-dollar media, advisory, and community ecosystem for women in reinvention. MOMumental Reinvention is the editorial engine.
